Strolling Cities

About the Project

A collaboration with MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab and Politecnico di Milano. We trained an AI model on millions of photos from nine Italian cities, taken during the COVID lockdowns when streets were empty. Voice-to-City technology: visitors spoke poetry into a microphone, and the AI reshaped urban landscapes in real time in response to their words. The result was a continuously evolving visual experience: cities that felt familiar yet didn't exist.
